Usage notes
- This suffix is used in words borrowed with the -ism suffix that refer to ideologies, beliefs, etc. (as in rasisme (“racism”) and ateisme (“atheism”)).
- For borrowed words with the -ism suffix that refer to entities, the suffix -isma is used instead (as in prisma (“prisma”) and organisma (“organism”)).
