Joseph McLaughlin (born 2005) is a Northern Irish hurler. At club level he plays with Ruairí Óg and at inter-county level with the Antrim senior hurling team.
Career
McLaughlin first played hurling at juvenile and underage levels with the Ruairí Óg club. He also lined out as a schoolboy with St Killian's College and captained the team to the Mageean Cup after a 0–17 to 0–13 defeat of Cross and Passion College in the 2023 final.[1] McLaughlin made his senior team debut with Ruairí Óg in 2023.[2] He ended the campaign with an Antrim SHC medal, before later claiming an Ulster Club SHC medal.[3][4]
McLaughlin first appeared on the inter-county scene during a two-year tenure with the Antrim minor hurling team in 2021 and 2022.[5][6] He immediately progressed to the under-20 team and won an Ulster U20HC medal in 2023.[7] McLaughlin made his first appearances for the senior team during the 2024 National Hurling League.[8]
