I have reverted a change that made the list of clades conform exactly to Adl et al. I hope I haven't offended in doing so, because I know it was meant to help, and usually would have done so. In this case, I think it makes things more confusing for people who aren't familiar with the new taxonomy. Dinoflagellata has been around for a while, Dinozoa is relatively new and not as common. Saying "ciliates, dinoflagellates, apicomplexans, etc." is just as correct as "ciliates, dinozoans, apicomplexans, etc." and I think less intimidating.
We don't need to name all the intermediate clades - for instance, Adl et al. don't bother with the Miozoa or Myzozoa, a very well-supported group - but if we want to, we should probably maybe present them as a tree?
Motility
Sporozoites of Plasmodium spp. are not gametes, they are, however, motile and therefore have structures to enable movement. They lack axonemal structures and I have changed the wording to reflect this nicety.Urselius (talk) 13:40, 3 February 2010 (UTC)

Is there an image that shows the alveoli? I am a non-specialist, and I notice the first sentence under the heading "Characteristics" states: "The most notable shared characteristic is the presence of cortical (outer-region) alveoli (sacs)." However, the article does not contain any images of these. Image searches on DuckDuckGo, Google and Bing using the key words "protist image showing alveoli" also yield no results. A labelled image that includes the magnification and a line to indicate lengths would be a nice addition to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SEBaldwin (talk • contribs) 21:55, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
