Potential replacements
Can someone right about potential successor campaigns? A3811 (talk) 13:12, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
Michelle Obama
Hello.
As I stated elsewhere, I found the following highly relevant information, and would greatly appreciate if it can be incorporated into this article in an appropriate manner. Thanks in advance for any help.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos public opinion poll among 892 registered voters released on July 2, 2024, Michelle Obama was the only listed Democrat option who would defeat Trump in a confrontation, with 50% of the votes for Obama versus 39% for Trump. 55% of the voters also had a favourable view of Obama versus 42% toward Trump.[1][2]

- We should not try to fill this page up with random folks who could beat Trump in a hypothetical. I'm sure Oprah vs. Trump is a poll somewhere too. And, based on Michelle Obama's publicly stated hatred of pursuing public offices, Oprah vs Trump is just as likely a match-up as Michelle Obama vs Trump Bluethricecreamman (talk) 18:33, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
Adam Smith, Mark Takano, and Joe Morelle
There are numerous reliable sources that state Adam Smith, Mark Takano, and Joe Morelle each called for Biden to step down. Reliable sources state Nadler changed his position. Due to the reliable sources these three should be included.

- Those were not made publicly, except for Adam Smith.

- Why does it matter if the statement was public or private? The list titled Groups and individuals calling for President Biden to end his campaign doesn't have to be public statements, especially when reliable sources exist to support their inclusion.Fodient (talk) 21:08, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
Merge proposal with "Age and health concerns of Joe Biden"
I propose that Age and health concerns of Joe Biden be merged with this article. The age concerns of Biden have, over the past 2 weeks, coalesced into a broad controversy and a push to oust him from the presidential race. It's reasonable to suggest that the concerns described in the article to be merged has ultimately culminated in the controversy described in this article, meaning the article would fit neatly into this article's "background" section. The page, alongside 2024 United States presidential debates#Reception and aftermath, could coalesce all relevant information regarding the concerns and controversies from 2020 to the present day into one article, which would fix the currently disparate nature of the topic.
Since "Calls for Joe Biden to suspend his 2024 United States presidential campaign" would not appropriately capture the breadth of such an article, the article could also be renamed something along the lines of "Joe Biden 2024 presidential campaign controversy", "Joe Biden age/health controversy" "Joe Biden 2024 presidential debate controversy", or something along those lines. - Speedy close this article is at AFD, and Age and health concerns of Joe Biden was created yesterday. This proposal is not in order, and should be shut down until the AFD discussion for this (and possibly both) articles are resolved. Walsh90210 (talk) 01:37, 11 July 2024 (UTC)
Merging/saving work done here post redirect
I merged the list into List of Democrats who oppose the Joe Biden 2024 presidential campaign
I also merged much of the most notable aspects of the body into Joe Biden 2024 presidential campaign#Primaries Superb Owl (talk) 18:26, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- I oppose the redirect. The AfD showed clear consensus to keep the article. Jusdafax (talk) 18:54, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
