Description of License is incorrect
From the article:
> In June 2019, Cockroach Labs announced that CockroachDB would change its license from the free software license Apache License 2.0 to a proprietary license[10] known as the Cockroach Community License (CCL).[11]
if you read the cited article, they are switching from Apache+CCL to BSL+CCL, not switching to CCL. The CCL is specific to enterprise features, and remains unchanged in the June 2019 announcement. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.110.22.163 (talk) 19:04, 17 October 2020 (UTC)
- The BSL is also a proprietary license (not OSI nor FSF approved), I updated the article accordingly. 2003:F6:1F36:5500:E08A:AD2D:38A:C606 (talk) 20:54, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
POV doubt
I think this article is written like a sort of business self-promotion. May someone check?--Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 17:26, 18 October 2020 (UTC) Additional motivation: article highlights the company over its product. The fact that CockroachDB is a redirect to Cockroach Labs makes it clear.--Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 13:43, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- I agree with Il Gatto Obeso that this should be rewritten to focus on the database with only a small blurb about the company. I don't really feel like the company is as relevant as its product. i.e. it makes sense to have a page on IBM because it has many products and many are famous, but Cockroach is really a single product company and only relevant because of that product. If no one objects I may take this on in the next week or two. Reboot (talk) 16:41, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Let's get it over with. Removed fundraising rounds paragraph, corporate affairs section, and other sensationalistic stuff. Moved to CockroachDB. End.--Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 14:42, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I cannot move the page. Please may an admin intervene.--Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 14:48, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

CockroachDB (temporary) → CockroachDB – Please place your rationale for the proposed move here. Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 09:57, 18 February 2021 (UTC) I actually tried to move the page by myself, without asking others for consent, but I am currently unable because of existing redirects, and lack of adminship/movership rights.--Il Gatto Obeso (talk) 09:57, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
