Entertainment
I removed this verbiage from the article:
- The Commons Cinema, which shows movies close to DVD release, is closing down as the Commons Mall closes its doors as a shopping mall. However, another theatre in the mall, Yes! Cinema which shows independent, older, and foreign films, will remain open throughout, and after the construction.
The text above reads more like an announcement in a newspaper than like an entry in an encyclopedia. It has a short shelf life and so I rephrased it to reveal the movie theaters in the town without mention of such fleeting things as building construction and whether a shopping mall is or is not currently open for business. After all, in an encyclopedia, what is the definition of "currently" in the first place? Jeff Mincey (talk) 21:54, 5 July 2008 (UTC) s
National Monuments
Can someone with knowledge confirm that the buildings mentioned in Columbus, Indiana as National Historic Landmarks are National Monuments? Dunc_Harris|☺ 19:26, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)
According to http://www.cr.nps.gov/nhl/designations/listsofNHLs.htm ,yes, it's true. RickK 20:04, Aug 27, 2004 (UTC)
Yeah, I saw that but I think they're privately owned which might make them ineligible, but instead a National Historic Site. Dunc_Harris|☺ 20:40, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)
They are just National Historic Landmarks, not Monuments or Historic Sites. The only National Memorial in Indiana is the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial and there are no National Historic Sites as Appendix B on the list says. Rmhermen 00:22, Aug 28, 2004 (UTC)

Kinda surprised to not see Scott McNealy. But I guess it's "residents", not "natives"? Renaissongsman
I move to remove Steve Forster from the residents section, since he is not well known outside of a selected group of people Chris4682
Flexxx Eagleton appears to be a young resident of the area who is famous. Psyklic
I agree with your decision Psyklic Chris4682
I move to remove Alison Bates from the residents section, since she is not well known outside of a selected group of people. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.61.143 (talk) 13:16, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Bypass
"He was in charge of building a road from Indianapolis to Louisville and just south of Franklin, he built the Mauxferry Road and brought it south, around the west side of Columbus on its way to Seymour."
I am assuming that this refers to what is now highway 11, which used to be 31-A, which in turn was US 31 before the US 31 "Bypass" (National Road) was built? It is actually interesting that the newer US 31 "Bypass" of National Road was built to go around the north side of the city, since the old 31 bypassed downtown anyway; it was doubly ironic that this "bypass" was overrun by Columbus's expansion northward, such that the "bypass" ended up being a congested road going right through the city.

Town Ranking
Where is the best place to put information regarding a town's ranking? Fir example in he intro of this article, Columbus is rated for historic destinations, playful town etc.. I just wondered where this information belongs in the article because I see it placed in different place in different articles. Thanks..--BuzyBody (talk) 17:52, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Huh?
This article states: "Because Columbus is far enough from Indianapolis, it benefits tremendously from nearby commuters who recognize Columbus as a major city in its own right." Have no idea what this sentence is trying to say. I doubt anyone thinks Columbus, Indiana is a "major city in its own right" in any case. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.162 (talk) 12:30, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

Pence
I don't think it unreasonable to call out in the lead the fact that the #2 political official in the US is from this community. I don't see how it diminishes anything or anyone else from Columbus. This helps readers interested in Pence. 331dot (talk) 10:25, 7 September 2017 (UTC)

The Crump theatre mentioned in the Article has since reopened. How should it be edited to show this? Let me know what you guys think regarding this, thanks
