Linking to BaseCamp
[edit]Hi (sorry am new to this) - there is a page that is an "orphan" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garmin_BaseCamp - that I think would be correct to link from this page? Would e.g. be appropriate after the sentence: "In April 2008, Garmin launched Garmin Mobile PC, a GPS navigation software program for laptop PCs and other computers, based on the Microsoft Windows operating system, now discontinued." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 101.100.184.216 (talk) 15:04, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- We would need a source indicating that including that text here is WP:DUE... and given that that article currently has no third-party sources, it's an open question whether that page should even be there, much less linked to from here. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 20:32, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

Under "acquisitions", add line: "In 2011, Garmin acquired Arizona-based dog-training equipment company Tri-Tronics® Inc as a wholly owned subsidiary (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/newsroom/press-release/corporate/2011-garmin-acquires-tri-tronics-inc-leader-in-electronic-dog-training-equipment/ can be used as the source)
Under "Dog tracking and training", change to: Garmin entered the dog tracking market in 2007 with the Astro® GPS dog tracking system (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/newsroom/press-release/outdoor/2008-garmin-introduces-new-and-improved-astro-gps-dog-tracking-collar/ can be used as the source) and now produces several lines of dog training e-collars and tracking equipment, including under the Astro®, Alpha®, Sport® and Pro® brands (no new citations should be needed).
- Not done. This is not Garmin's press release archive. We would want reliable, third-party sources doing more than just reprinting the press release to consider this relevant data. Additionally, we would not include the registered trademark symbol in the text, per MOS:TMRULES. -- 18:56, 26 June 2024 (UTC)
Acquisition of JL Audio
[edit]I am suggesting an addition to the "Aquisition" section of the History of Garmin to add information regarding Garmin's acquisition of JL Audio in 2023 Reilandeubank (talk) 16:47, 9 August 2024 (UTC)
