Mislabeling of Hura crepitans seeds
The images labeled as "Hura crepitans seeds" in the article's gallery correspond not to the seeds, but to the carpels of its fruit. The seeds are round and flat and, before the fruit expoldes, they are nested between the carpels. See the pictures in the following pages for reference:
- Antique botanical print of Hura crepitans. Seeds are in the left inferior corner.
After loading this note I will modify the article page.

The way described on how to make a sandbox
The editor describes the way to make a sandbox but it is incorrect. The way that the sandbox is made is by removing the stem and top without going down the sides. You then take a file and remove the inner parts of the segments. It is possible to make a top to replace the stem. If the stem with the natural top is in one piece can also be glued to the added wooden top. The added top can also be made from papier mache. RichardBond (talk) 01:19, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Can you cite a reliable source that states that? Everything that goes into an article has to be verifiable from a reliable source. Donald Albury 14:26, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
Seed throwing distance
I don't have access to the listed source when it says "One source states that ripe capsules catapult their seeds as far as 100 m". This source appears to claim more than twice as far as the others. Can someone check that source more closely, to see if they might be saying that the seeds can cover an area 100 m wide? This would mean 50 m in every direction from the tree, and thus much more in line with other sources. TooManyFingers (talk) 17:14, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
- I couldn't find anything, so I placed {{Template:Verify source}} on that source in the article. Donald Albury 19:00, 23 November 2024 (UTC)
