In terms of content, the bull is simply the format in which a decree of the pope appears. Any subject may be treated in a bull, and many were and are, including statutory decrees, episcopal appointments, dispensations, excommunications, Apostolic constitutions, canonizations, and convocations.Elizium23 (talk) 08:43, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Elizium23: I removed the information that it was a bull, as the source you used to support it was permanently dead. By the way, I do not know what you are quoting here on the talk page. Veverve (talk) 10:23, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Veverve, that is a quote of papal bull. The link is obviously not dead because I had just visited it to cite it, it was up for me and for the visual editor, so it seems like an Internet problem on your end, but I do not wish to edit-war with you over this. The summary of this article consists entirely of Catholic jargon and does not explain what Ineffabilis Deus was about in a way that is understandable to a non-Catholic, or non-Christian. Nosferattus (talk) 02:32, 8 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
