@Hockeyfan6428: The level of detail regarding Miljone's playing career must be applauded, the number of primary sources (take a look at WP:PSTS regarding valuations of sources) are staggering and this is likely the most complete biography about the player in existence. What has been assembled certainly deserves to be preserved but Wikipedia is not the appropriate place for statistical minutiae without context, like each team scored against in a single season (WP:DETAIL and WP:INDISCRIMINATE may provide further explanations). A good rule of thumb when assessing statistics for inclusion is: would this be useful information for a reader who knows nothing about the subject?
That is to say, would a reader unfamiliar with ice hockey, gain anything from learning that Miljone scored two goals against Sundsvall in 2013–14? The statistic alone does not indicate the significance of two goals in two games – this could be a notable instance of scoring, as it would be for a soccer player, or a particularly small number, as it would be for a basketball player. If context about the number of goals scored in the SDHL were provided, the reader would conclude that Miljone's goals against Sundsvall are neither a spectacular nor a poor performance against a single opponent and, as such, the statistic does not provide useful information to the reader and does not merit inclusion in the article.
As I respect the amount of work that went into compiling the data, I thought it might be helpful to transfer the text and citations that are too detailed for a Wikipedia encyclopedia article to this talk section in order to make them easier to repurpose elsewhere, rather than make you comb through the article version history to find what has been removed.
ps. I hope my edits aren’t received in a negative light, the article is genuinely wonderful and I hope my tinkering with layout and style don’t serve to discourage you in any way. Keep up the good work! Cheers – Spitzmauskc (talk) 01:31, 17 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
