3x02 Title
The Ready Room states that 3x02 is titled "Far From Home", as does RadioTimes, but Futon lists it as "That Hope Is You, Part 2". -- /Alex/21 04:04, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- Very confusing, hopefully we can get some sort of explanation soon since they seem to be sticking with "That Hope Is You, Part 1" for the first episode. For now I think it would be fine to add "That Hope Is You, Part 2" as an alt title for the second episode and then just see what happens. - adamstom97 (talk) 10:18, 16 October 2020 (UTC)
- I know that for some weird reason your wiki does not accept Netflix as reliable source, so FYIO. Episode 1 appears as "Part 1", episode 2 does not appear at all, first time on my memory. Looks like they are confused too. IKhitron (talk) 12:29, 18 October 2020 (UTC)
This is a nonsense - you have a single source saying it has that title - every other RS does not use that name and CBS rolled out more media previews and information last night and not a single one uses that name. The weight of RS says this is NOT an alternative name for this episode or used in any official capacity. The Fulton Critic seems to have just assumed it would be called that. They do not even make reference to its correct name. Cameron Scott (talk) 07:23, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- If you actually read TFC's press releases, such as this one, it very clearly states
The following article is a press release issued by the aforementioned network and/or company. Any errors, typos, etc. are attributed to the original author. The release is reproduced solely for the dissemination of the enclosed information.
So, no, TFC hasn't assumed anything. They get their content directly from the network. -- /Alex/21 08:21, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
Except the press releases are publicly available - none of them use it - so currently we have:
- Press releases from maker not using the name
- Multiple reliable sources not using the name
- A single source using it
Plus on ready room the official tie-in show that airs after Discovery they announced the title was... Far from Home.
It's baffling how that we can therefore conclude that the one single outlining source is the correct one.... Cameron Scott (talk) 10:26, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- It's identified here as an alternate title, not the only one. —ADavidB 15:07, 20 October 2020 (UTC)
- Futon has updated their listing to be "Far From Home". Seems likely that this was originally "That Hope Is You" Parts 1 and 2, and the second one was renamed but not the first for some reason. Hopefully we get some more info on that soon. - adamstom97 (talk) 08:30, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- So the source was a lot of bollocks as expressed above. It might need a look at more broadly because it's used here a lot but going off this their quality control is crap. Cameron Scott (talk) 14:46, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- That is not true and completely unnecessary. I don't know what your problem is but that tone is not appropriate for Wikipedia. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:17, 23 October 2020 (UTC)
- Cameron Scott, continue to talk to other editors like this and you will be reported to WP:AN, it's that simple. If you're not here to discuss in a civil manner, you can leave. Clearly the title is valid as an alternate title, as TFC is used on over 6,000 articles and gets their content direct from the network; your opinion against that is irrelevant. -- /Alex/21 22:19, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

- Feel free - given unless I've missed something not a single one of my posts refer to editors or make refer to editors I'm not sure why they would be interested - in summary my contributions here are:
- This is the only source to say this and thus given undue weight - it's bollocks
- It's still only the source to say this and thus why are we giving it undue wright? - it's still bollocks
- It was the only the only source to say this and it is now changed to match reality - it was bollocks. Cameron Scott (talk) 09:49, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
- Cameron Scott, I have an actual response to that, but clearly you're WP:NOTHERE with your minimal contributions. Carry on. Cheers. -- /Alex/21 11:02, 25 October 2020 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Star Trek: Discovery (season 3)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Star Trek: Discovery (season 3)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 00:42, 17 October 2020 (UTC)

- Hi I added film director David Cronenberg as a Notable Guest. This edit is worthy as his appearance in the series is a bit of a scoop. Please revert if inappropriate. Cograng (talk) 10:33, 29 June 2021 (UTC)
- We don't just include everyone that people think are noteworthy or "a bit of a scoop", there has to be a way to limit the list to a reasonable number of guests. That is why we have additional criteria restricting the list to guest actors/characters who are returning from previous seasons or Star Trek series. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:29, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Andromeda
No mention of Andromeda? I remember the discussions and there was at the start of the season at least the perception that the Fall of the Federation premise smelled a lot like Andromeda. By the end of the season the series had probably done enough to chart a different course but it surprises me that this article doesn't mention it at all. A review of s3e1 notes "Gene Roddenberry’s Andromeda. And now Star Trek: Discovery is doing their own take on this…"[1] -- 109.78.197.10 (talk) 18:58, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
- I read every top review on RT and many more when putting together the reception section for this article and that series never came up. Even if that one review you linked mentioned it that doesn't mean it was a significant thing in terms of the general reception to the season. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:33, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
