The words for this song are from Leonard Cohen
It was previously stated that the lyrics were written by Nick Cave but they're actually from Leonard Cohen. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.196.229.52 (talk) 01:42, 22 September 2007 (UTC)
- The article says Cave wrote this song, but the sidebar says it was Leonard Cohen. I don't own the album so I don't know what's true, but a quick Google didn't turn up authoritative confirmation that Cohen was the lyricist. I put a fact tag beside Cohen's name in the sidebar. I don't think it truly needs a citation in the article (other song articles don't do this), but since there's some confusion as to who the real lyric writer was, I'd like to see someone back this claim up. Do the notes to the album say Cohen was the lyricist or not? CKarnstein 23:34, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- Allmusic.com lists the writer as Cave, with no mention of Cohen, and searching the Leonard Cohen Files turns up zilch. Until we can find proof other than google backwaters I think this should be attributed to Cave only. Nigeltde 14:30, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Not only is this not a Cohen tune, the reference to it being written for performance by someone other than Minogue is incorrect, as Cave wrote it specifically with Minogue in mind to perform the song. (Minogue's Wikipedia entry, as well as her own website, which is cited in her entry) state this. Perhaps, if a version with the Bad Seeds guitarist singing Minogue's part exists, it was recorded for some other reason (like a live performance version). Kate Bush duet?
I keep finding one that's with Kate Bush instead of Kylie Minogue. Where is that from? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.80.204.242 (talk) 04:25, 26 January 2007 (UTC).
- It's the Minogue version, incorrectly labelled. Bearcat (talk) 00:25, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Wherethewildrosesgrow.jpg
Image:Wherethewildrosesgrow.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. I can't make sense of this sentence
A CD of the track—which had Blixa Bargeld singing Minogue's lines—when sent to Minogue's parents' house (as she was staying there at the time) prior to her recording the song.[4]
Should when be was? ProfNax (talk) 13:10, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, thanks. That's what The Guardian source says. I've corrected it. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:19, 1 July 2019 (UTC)
