This template returns either 0 or 1 to indicate if daylight saving time (DST) is active in the given time zone region:

1 | DST is active |
See below for the currently supported time zones. Note that if DST is only partially observed in a certain time zone, this template returns 1 if DST is active in that part (even though it is not observed/active in the other part).
During DST, the clock is set one hour ahead of standard time.

- DST begins on the second Sunday in March at 2 a.m. local standard time and ends on the first Sunday in November at 2 a.m. local daylight saving time ([1][2][3]).
- 2 a.m. HAST, AKST, PST, MST, CST, EST, AST and NST is 12:00, 11:00, 10:00, 9:00, 8:00, 7:00, 6:00 and 5:30 UTC respectively.
- 2 a.m. HADT, AKDT, PDT, MDT, CDT, EDT, ADT and NDT is 11:00, 10:00, 9:00, 8:00, 7:00, 6:00, 5:00 and 4:30 UTC respectively.
WET, CET, EET
- DST begins on the last Sunday in March at 1:00 UTC and ends on the last Sunday in October at 1:00 UTC ([4]).
ACT, AET
- DST begins on the first Sunday in October at 2 a.m. local standard time and ends on the first Sunday in April at 3 a.m. local daylight saving time ([5][6][7]).
- 2 a.m. ACST and AEST is 16:30 and 16:00 UTC (previous day) respectively, which is an offset of 7:30 hours and 8:00 hours respectively from midnight.
- 3 a.m. ACDT and AEDT is 2 a.m. ACST and AEST is 16:30 and 16:00 UTC (previous day) respectively, which is an offset of 7:30 hours and 8:00 hours respectively from midnight.
NZT
- DST begins on the last Sunday in September at 2 a.m. local standard time and ends on the first Sunday in April at 3 a.m. local daylight saving time ([8]).
- 2 a.m. NZST is 14:00 UTC (previous day), which is an offset of 10:00 hours from midnight.
- 3 a.m. NZDT is 2 a.m. NZST is 14:00 UTC (previous day), which is an offset of 10:00 hours from midnight.
