Character Spoofs
I removed Superduperman as the character clearly doesn't belong in the very general Related section. That said, it occurred to me that the character - like so many of the other spoofs of characters (e.g. Sherlock Holmes; Prince Valiant; Popeye; Gasoline Alley etc) - could be inserted into a section called Character Spoofs. As there is already a Film and TV section, this would make sense. It would also be a nice touch as historically the spoofed characters came before the Films and TV. If no one objects, I'll add it in the next day or so. Regards Thebladesofchaos (talk) 03:17, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
- Perhaps rather than "character", which is a bit loose and could include film and TV characters, you go for "List of Mad's literature spoofs" or "List of Mad's fiction spoofs" which can then take in the characters from novels (like Holmes) and the rest of the list which come from comics and comic strips (literature might be the slightly broader term. Of course, if you wanted to be more literal "List of Mad's novel and comics spoofs" but I think it is unnecessary). The specific one isn't too important (although it might be an idea to redirect from the unsuccessful one to the article to avoid confusion) as long as the lead is clear about the remit of the article. - Ah or are you talking about a section on novel and comics spoofs in Recurring features in Mad (magazine)? In which case go for it (it can't hurt and there are some solid examples - there were a number based on DC Comics in particular), although it might be there is enough material for a list similar to the TV and film ones, but that is a lot more work. - Actually went one step further with proposal - ([1]). Thebladesofchaos (talk) 00:58, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
- Your proposal, I don't think that word means what you think it means on YouTube. (And it's gone) WurmWoodeT 13:29, 25 April 2023 (UTC)
