Thanks for visiting my userpage! Please feel free to leave a message or ask questions on my discussion page.
I have a chemistry Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. And I was pretty much destined to become a chemist when my experiment in high school chemistry went awry and I set off the fire alarm.
I started editing Wikipedia when I started a project with my advisor for our students to edit Wikipedia pages as a class project and it was (and still is) a great success! The students loved it and were excited that their work would be up for the world to see. At the same time these pages reach out to the general public, informing them about advanced topics in chemistry. As topics like climate change and renewable energy are becoming more integrated in our political discourse, it is important to try to understand the scientific research behind these issues in order to make informed decisions. To see all of the entries that our students have worked on as well as comparisons to the entries previously, please go to User:UMChemProfessor.
I am interested in getting more students involved in the editing of Wikipedia and its sister projects, and to do so I started a student club, Michigan Wikipedians, on campus centered around teaching Wikipedia editing, media literacy, and general outreach. Along with that I am a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador.
