Courtesy note re: Draft:MC Shadow resubmission
Hello MCE89 - thank you for taking the time to review the earlier submission.
I wanted to note (without disputing the prior decision) that the draft has since been substantially rebuilt with new independent secondary sources, including institutional coverage by the Art Gallery of Ontario (2025), University of Toronto / Hart House (2023), and inclusion in the documentary Drop the Needle (2023). Self-published and primary material has been reduced or removed in line with AfC guidance.
No response needed - I appreciate your time and prior feedback. Gen (talk) 21:47, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

Question regarding Draft:Paulo Gonçalves decline on December 4, 2025
Thank you for the review. I understand the concern: the draft must either satisfy one of the academic-specific notability criteria (WP:PROF) or demonstrate notability through multiple reliable, independent, secondary sources that cover the subject in depth (WP:GNG).
I will not resubmit again until the draft is rebuilt around sources that provide significant subject-focused coverage (i.e., profiles/features where Paulo Gonçalves is the primary topic, not passing mentions in coverage of USI initiatives). I will also remove CV-like content and keep only material directly supported by independent secondary sources.
Because this is a COI/autobiographical topic, I will prepare changes in my sandbox and use edit requests for independent editors to implement them. If reviewers can indicate what kinds of sources would best demonstrate “significant coverage” in this case (e.g., profiles vs. program announcements), I would appreciate the guidance. Thank you. TFA!
Thank you today especially for Mary Fortune, "about a 19th-century Australian writer who was probably the first woman to write detective fiction. She wrote pseudonymously throughout her career—likely in part due to her scandalous past—with her identity only rediscovered several decades after her death. The details of her life have only recently been unearthed by Lucy Sussex, whose research I have relied on heavily in writing this article."! - Thank you for an amazing flow of high quality content seen on this page alone! - Enjoy your first TFA day! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:44, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

I still remember it being a normal day in mid-October when I came across this article about a detective writer who was neither Doyle nor Christie.

Thank you for reviewing the article “HPV vaccination in Japan.”
Among many articles, I appreciate your detailed and thorough explanation in this piece. I am grateful you took the time to review papers, including those in Japanese. Doc James edited the article afterward. Since I'm not confident in my English, I'd like to consider how to proceed with future edits. For now, I just wanted to express my thanks.~~~~ 流山隆一 (talk) 11:09, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
- Of course @流山隆一, and thanks again for your work on the article! In future I'd really suggest staying away from LLMs — it's totally okay if your English isn't perfect, but using LLMs tends to just create more trouble than they're worth. MCE89 (talk) 03:11, 27 February 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 March newsletter
The first round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 26 February. As some of you may have noticed, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. This point increase has been retroactively applied to all good article reviews for which competitors have claimed points in this round. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 1 will advance to round 2 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 1 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points, and the top 16 contestants all scored more than 300 round points. The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
Bgsu98 (submissions) with 1,467 round points, largely gained from 1 featured article, 5 featured lists, 15 good articles, and 42 FAC and GAN reviews;
Olliefant (submissions) with 1,246 round points, largely from 4 featured lists, 9 good articles, 2 featured topic articles, 4 did you know articles, and 75 FAC and GAN reviews;
Generalissima (submissions) with 1,095 round points, largely from 3 featured articles, 6 good articles, and 5 did you know articles;
MCE89 (submissions) with 848 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 32 FAC and GAN reviews; and
Rollinginhisgrave (submissions) with 838 round points, largely from 1 featured article, 8 good articles, 1 did you know article, and 14 FAC, GAN, and peer reviews.
The full scores for round 1 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 7 featured articles, 16 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 168 good articles, 13 good-topic articles and more than 50 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 14 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 700 reviews. The tournament points table will be updated within the next few days.
Remember that any content promoted after 26 February but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Afc for Draft:Imelda Harsono
Hello, I am interested in translating the article about Imelda Harsono from the Indonesian Wikipedia into English. However, I noticed that this topic had previously been submitted through Articles for Creation and was declined on the grounds that the sources did not demonstrate significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. In the most recent revision of the draft, I have added several references that help demonstrate the subject’s notability and independence of coverage.
For example, Jawa Pos in online edition (2025), published a substantial article discussing the subject. The piece is not an advertorial or press release but part of a regular editorial feature that profiles the work and ideas of notable individuals. Another comprehensive profile appeared in Prestige Indonesia, a well-known lifestyle magazine. The article was published in 2016 and is accessible online via PressReader: https://www.pressreader.com/indonesia/prestige-indonesia/20160301/282999693934449
Earlier independent coverage also appears in SWA (magazine), a leading Indonesian business magazine. Two examples include: https://swa.co.id/read/81535/imelda-m-harsono-kiat-sukses-menjadi-women-leader and https://swa.co.id/read/91540/terobosan-imelda-m-harsono-di-samator-group .Both of these are journalistic interviews and editorial features rather than press releases.
Please note that searching for sources may sometimes be technically difficult because the subject’s name is occasionally written in different forms, such as Imelda Mulyani Harsono or Imelda M. Harsono.
In addition to the sources mentioned above, other independent outlets, such as Tatler Asia and Hukumonline, also contain substantive discussions of the subject. Taken together, these sources suggest that coverage of the subject has appeared consistently over a period of years rather than as isolated mentions. Coverage also appears in the context of the well-documented Harsono family in business literature, including this book: https://www.google.co.id/books/edition/Kasus_Kasus_Manajemen_Perusahaan_Indones/PXd8EAAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=%22Imelda+Harsono%22&pg=PA232&printsec=frontcover
I have added these sources to the existing draft (even though I am not the original creator), since the maintenance template indicates that improvements should be made directly in the draft. I hope the steps I have taken are consistent with Wikipedia’s guidelines and help clarify the availability of independent, reliable coverage of the subject. Rahmatdenas (talk) 10:12, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Rahmatdenas! Those sources are definitely an improvement, but I still don't see multiple sources that are reliable, independent, and provide significant coverage of the subject. The Jawa Pos sources is probably the best, but note that interviews are not considered independent sources — we need multiple sources where someone entirely unconnected to Harsono covers her in detail. I can see that you've resubmitted the draft for review though, so another reviewer will take a look at it and might come to a different conclusion. Good luck with the draft!
