Thanks for adding the taxobox to Mimagoniates microlepis. I got lazy but hoped someone would add it and you did. Likewise thanks for cleaning up the refs. Sometimes I just get too eager to go onto the next article! - House of Scandal (talk) 04:26, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

Omaha FA?
Hey Swid, a while ago you'd mentioned the possibility of collaborating on getting Omaha moved to FA. I've just finished up all the suggestions from the peer review, and I'm looking for any further guidance. Could you give it a once-over or share any of your thoughts with me? Thanks. • Freechild'sup? 22:50, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
- Well, barring your participation I went ahead, cleaned it up, and submitted it to FA review - and now its getting slaughtered. You can see it for yourself here. • Freechild'sup? 07:26, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there Swid. Just writing to let you know I think that was a pretty harsh move, proposing to me a year ago that we collaborate on making Omaha a FA[2] and then being the first to critique it in the FA review[3], after I asked you twice if you were interested in collaborating still, and you not responding. Not very good "Wikiquette." It would be good to see you jump in on the article now, after its achieved GA status, to help get it ready for FA. I hope you consider that. • Freechild'sup? 08:55, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
E1b1b article
Hi, we haven't seen anything from you on the talk page. We had a bit of third party observation which helped a lot, but it stopped pretty quickly and the strange discussions are there again. We need another perspective.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 17:54, 31 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, the mediation banner has been there so long without anything happening now, that I wonder if that should be closed off? It might just be chasing away potential editors now. The article has improved in the meantime, but it would have been helpful to have a third party on some issues at the time the discussions got out of balance.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 21:00, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Lincoln-NE-seal-gold.gif)
Thanks for uploading Image:Lincoln-NE-seal-gold.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:59, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Articles for deletion nomination of Lindsay Manufacturing
I have nominated Lindsay Manufacturing, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lindsay Manufacturing. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference
Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true
. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false
in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.
For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:47, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
Independent Cinema
Hi Swid, I see you long ago created a page Independent cinema, which redirects to Independent film. In the UK, the term "independent cinema" usually (as far as I know, always) refers to a movie theatre, not to movie production. Do you feel the redirect should be changed to point to Independent Cinema in the United Kingdom or do you think a disambiguation page is required? Tesspub (talk) 08:42, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Suggestion for WikiProject United States to support WikiProject Nebraska
It was recently suggested that WikiProject Nebraska, to which you are a member, may be inactive or semi-active and it might be beneficial to include it in the list of projects supported by WikiProject United States. After reviewing the project it appears that there haven't been much active discussion on the talk page in some time and the only content updates appear to be simple maintenance so being supported by a larger project might be beneficial. I have begun a discussion on the projects talk page to see how the members of the project feel about this suggestion. Another user has added the project to the WPUS template and I added it to the list of supported projects in the WPUS main project page but before I take any further action I wanted to contact each of the active members for their input. --Kumioko (talk) 13:52, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Amigos/Kings Classic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Unable to locate anything in-depth outside of local press. Prodding as opposed to recommended for deletion in hopes that someone more familiar with the topic can introduce better sources to show how this chain is notable for Wikipedia.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. CNMall41 (talk) 18:57, 30 August 2017 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest
US Banknote Contest | ||
---|---|---|
November-December 2019 | ||
There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons. In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate. If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here |
