L'Étoile lavalloise Mayenne Futsal Club is a French futsal sports club based in Laval, founded in March 2006.
History
The club started at the departmental level but already took part in the second edition of the 2008–09 National Futsal Challenge. The team qualified to compete in the first edition of the 2009–10 French Futsal Championship the following year but did not manage to stay in the division. This was followed by three years in the regional leagues, then one season in the inaugural 2013–14 French Second Division Futsal Championship. The team returned to the Honor Division, where it won the championship, and then spent six seasons as a top-tier team in D2. Following the COVID-19 pandemic in France, Étoile lavalloise was selected by the French Football Federation to join the French Futsal Championship for the 2021–22 season. Strengthened by several international players, the club achieved a league and Cup double in the 2022–2023 season, only its second season in D1.[1]
The club has been presided over by Julien Moreau since its founding. Since 2021, it has played its home matches at the Espace Mayenne and has set multiple attendance records in Division 1. The first team has been coached by Brazilian and former Belgian international André Vanderlei since 2016.
