This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of events). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). Local elections were held in Pateros on May 13, 2013, as part of the 2013 Philippine general election. The voters elected local elective posts in the municipality: the mayor, vice mayor, the district representative of Taguig-Pateros, and six councilors in each of the municipality's two districts.
Background
After the 2010 elections, in which a big margin re-elected the incumbent mayor Jaime "Joey" Medina, he ran for re-election for a third and final term in 2013. His opponent was Miguel "Ike" Ponce III.[1]
Incumbent vice mayor Jose Jonathan "Jojo" Sanchez although eligible for a third term, chose to run for councilor of the 2nd district instead. His party chose Ernesto Cortez, a councilor from the 2nd district. Cortez challenged Gerald German, a councilor from the 1st district and Jing Tuazon, an independent candidate.
In the congressional election, incumbent Taguig-Pateros representative Arnel Cerafica ran for reelection for a second term. He challenged Gigi De Mesa, a councilor from Taguig's 1st district.
