Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (CCHRC) is a non-governmental organisation located in Silchar, Cachar district of Assam.[1] It is a hospital that was founded in 1996 by the Cachar Cancer Society. The director of the hospital is veteran oncologist Padma Shri Dr. R. Ravi Kannan who is the winner of the 2023 Ramon Magsaysay award and the 2023 CNN Indian of the Year award.[2][3]
CCHRC provides comprehensive cancer treatment to the poor communities of Assam.[4][5] This region faces significant healthcare challenges due to its remote terrain and predominantly rural population.[6] In this region, the hospital works with supporters and donors to provide top-class cancer care, treating diverse and complex cases.[7]
