Paydirt Games was founded in January 2024 in California by Dermot S. Smurfit. The company has an international team of expert programmers, avid gamers to explore innovative persistent world models designed to augment and challenge the traditional video games Industry.
As the founder, President & CEO Smurfit avidly believes that as players of video games get older they will want differentiated and authentic experiences as entertainment.
This is a new independent game studio formed by Smurfit[1] who in his past brought the company GAN[2] into being which is a regulated software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider of casino games and sports betting technology. The company was listed on NASDAQ in May 2020. GAN is being acquired by video games developer SEGA Sammy Holdings, Inc. in 2024.[3]
