Month of death
The first sentence says she died in December 75. The only other mention of the timing of her death says body discovered in February 76 and thought to have been killed in the 10 days prior. Which is it and if the estimated date of death changed, then that change should be explained for the reader. Canuckle 04:20, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

DONE Changed death date to early Feb, based on FBI informant's report. Pasdecomplot (talk) 11:16, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
And based on 2nd autopsy report Canuckle Badagnani Pasdecomplot (talk) 11:21, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
It appears that the change to "early Feb" was reverted. Perhaps there is more compelling testimony about when her execution took place than the guess by the 1st autopsist, who didn't find the bullet wound and was anyway dealing with a frozen body? Maybe the edit history on this reveals what took place here. I merely thought that leaving this section as-is without further comment was confusing. Andyvphil (talk) 12:56, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
...this link says "on or about the 12th day of December, 1975". https://www.lakotatimes.com/articles/richard-marshall-indicted-in-aim-slaying-of-aquash/ Also see "Death date" section below. Andyvphil (talk) 13:24, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Separate John Graham article, possibly on Wikiversity
The only relevance to Anna Mae Aquash of the John Graham murder trial is that she was murdered, possibly by John Graham. Her daughters are pursuing John Graham, and that may be relevant in a family sense, and there is an unsupported statement that some still believe that she was a government agent. Other than that, information about John Graham, AIM, the case, and the governments belong on a page about John Graham, or his trial (preferably).
Since the trial is still in play, speculation by editors may be necessary to map out possible outcomes to assure full depth of knowledge in the end, and speculation falls under "original research." (A parallel example is writing on wp about the present economic dilemma.)
Wikiversity has no rule against speculation to develop research angles nor any rule against original research. Furthermore, if different theories develop among editors (or, on wv, researchers) parallel pages can be created, and mutually protected.
And finally, the Wikiversity can potentially be used as a classroom to study the case; such a project would be enthusiastically welcomed for its content, value, and to test the policy aspects of the Wikiversity learning environment.

Checking facts, dates, general maintenance
There are factual errors I've been correcting: Durham was CIA agent; rumors about Aquash came from disinfo campaign; will post others. Also clarifying sequence of events - article moves around in time and is slightly confusing. Context of Pine Ridge needs mentioning with RS: illegal land grab, COINTELPRO tactics. Pasdecomplot (talk) 10:14, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- I am concerned about your sourcing. Please be certain to source everything that you change in this long-standing bio or it may be reverted. Gandydancer (talk) 12:12, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
I gather some of this WAS reverted. The article now says (again?) that Durham "was an FBI informant". Which seems more likely as the CIA is not supposed to be able to operate in the US. Andyvphil (talk) 13:10, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Is this sentence a remnant of Pasdecomplot's edits?:
"In the Spirit of Crazy Horse further details the planting of the disinformation about Aquash by a CIA informant years before her murder.[5]"
I can't tell what the "disinformation" in this sentence refers to, but it echos Pasdecomplot's "rumors about Aquash came from disinfo campaign" with no obvious source. Andyvphil (talk) 13:18, 11 December 2024 (UTC)
Death date
@Bueller 007: if this has old sources that were written before the trial, they need to be updated. The Feb. date is wrong. Anyone who doesn't know that needs to learn more about this case before working on content here. Stop reverting and get up to speed. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 19:20, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- All it took to find stronger sourcing was a web search. I've started updating the sourcing. Dec 12 is the generally-agreed-upon date, but even that is somewhat shaky as the second autopsy and testimony led to the conclusion that she did not die immediately after being shot. The only thing that is certain is when she was shot. It is unclear exactly how long she suffered after the shooting before finally succumbing to her injuries and the cold. But it couldn't have been for two months.
- As I said in my edit summary, it's an understandable mistake if one only looks at old sources, as there was such a long gap between the murder and and the trial, as well as a documented effort to confuse the dates by the murderers. It was intentionally confusing. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 19:55, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
"Peltier interrogated her while holding a gun to her head"
"Other witnesses have testified that once Aquash came under suspicion as an informant, Peltier interrogated her while holding a gun to her head."
None of the three cited sources say this. Only one says her interogated her but says nothing about a gun. And he was not a witness who testified. His information was 3rd hand, "I've spoke to at least two of Anna Mae's female friends in the last couple years, who have confirmed that Anna Mae said that Leonard was part and parcel of her interrogation out on the mesa".
I'll remove the claim unless proper citation is provided.

- I added KaMook Bank's testimony from Arlo's trial. Indigenous girl (talk) 23:08, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Also added “Slaying the Sun Woman”: The Legacy of Annie Mae Aquash. I think it's possible the dickshovel sources could be removed. I haven't looked at them in years but I'll check them out now. The trial transcript and article should be sufficient I would think. There is also the youtube video Gun in Her Mouth where respected journalist Minnie Two Shoes and her cousin Bob Branscombe state the incident happened and even Leonard's cousin Bob Robideau alludes to it. Indigenous girl (talk) 23:54, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, there are quite a few contemporaries of Annie Mae and Leonard who have testified to him interrogating her in this manner. - CorbieVreccan ☊ ☼ 02:25, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
