... that Annita Demetriou is the first woman and youngest person elected as Speaker of Cyprus' House of Representatives? Source: "She ... is the first woman, as well as the youngest person, to be elected to the position" [1]
ALT1:... that as Speaker of Cyprus' House of Representatives, 35-year-old Annita Demetriou is the country's Acting President when President Nicos Anastasiades is unavailable? Source: "Because the position of Vice President remain vacant due to ethnic divisions, the Speaker is second in the country's political hierarchy and traditionally performs the duties of Acting President when the President is overseas or otherwise unavailable" [2]
Reviewed: (not done as nominator has fewer than 5 DYK credits)
New and long enough, well written and formatted. Written with neutral tone and has ample citations. Hook is interesting and reliably sourced (to a Reuters article). I prefer the first hook as it is simpler and more readable. Would query whether "Speaker" should be capitalised, per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style#Titles_of_people. Otherwise, good to go!
