DAB cleanup

I'm a reforming poor DAB editor so please leave a note on my talk page if you have a different interpretation of WP:DAB or MOS:DAB than I do. My goal is to follow both of them to the letter and the spirit of the law. Here are my Coles notes.

Overview

"Disambiguation pages are solely intended to allow the user to choose from a list of ... articles" MOS:DAB

Top of page

  • Wiktionary –
  • Primary Topics?
    • Yes, one DAB entry is obviously primary as per WP:PRIME
      • eg: A school is an institution for learning.
      • Non-primary topics
        • School may also refer to:
    • No, Introductory line MOS:DABINT
      • eg: Angus McKay, MacKay or Mackay may refer to:

Individual Entries

    • "when the link is the subject ... For description sections, consider piping"
    • "redirects should not be used in disambiguation pages ... (except when) used to link to a specific section of an article" WP:Piping
  • Piped links? No ... but ...

  • Description? "kept to a minimum" MOS:DAB#Introductory_line
  • Links? "exactly one navigable (blue) link" MOS:DAB#Introductory_line

    • No "Partial title matches" Wikipedia:Disambiguation#Lists
